Most Norwegian companies is happy with one or a few domain names, but some large companies, both private and public, have reached the maximum of 20 names in the Norwegian country code. This has made Norid increase the quota to 100 domain names from current 30.novenmber 2011.

Info from Norid Press Release:

# The quota to be increased to 100 domains

On 30 November 2011 the quota will be increased from 20 to 100 domains per organization. The change will affect companies and other enterprises with domain names directly within .no. Individuals are not affected.

The change takes effect from 30 November 2011 at 10.00 am, and affects all organizations registering or renewing their domains after this point of time. The registration system will be closed down for a short period of time prior to the change. The system will be re-opened at 10.00 am. Then applications will then be prosessed by the first come first served principle.

To limit possible unfortunate effects of the increase, the complaint procedure will be changed so that a domain holder who loses a complaint in the dispute resolution body, must cover the complaint fee himself. You as registrars must inform your customers about this policy change before their domains are due for the next renewal.
